Message from Camp
Spring 2008
Today, the Chingachgook community is the largest, strongest, and most diverse in our history. The camp’s annual operating budget will exceed $3 million this year, as we serve over 15,000 children and adults with life-changing programs on Lake George and through out the northeast. To deliver these YMCA programs, we employ 20 full-time professionals and complement those leaders with an army of 160 seasonal staff during our four, unique seasons. The mission and goals of YMCA Camp Chingachgook are being enthusiastically accomplished each year. One of our charitable goals is to provide opportunities for children and families, regardless of their ability to pay. To that end, we raise nearly $200,000 in donations each year for our Reach Out For Youth scholarship fund and help over 3,000 children and adults have an incredible Camp Chingachgook experience.
Please read our list of 2008 Programs (pdf). Hope you can join us with a Chingachgook visit soon!

"I have a conviction that a few weeks spent in a well organized summer camp may be of more value educationally than a whole year of formal school work."
