Fall 2002

Welcome to the new Chingachgook Alumni Association web page! We are so privileged to have some good friends at Tailwind Associates in Amsterdam, NY. They did most all of the work and we hope you enjoy visiting this site on a regular basis.

Chingachgook programs are thriving! This year we will serve over 13,000 children and family members in summer camp, school outdoor education, and family and adult retreats. Our programs at Chingachgook never end! Spring, summer, fall and winter there are great things going on for families and adults. Our alumni have been instrumental in giving us the momentum to serve more children. Lots of recent improvements have been made to our programs, facilities, and infrastructure as a result of alumni committed to helping us meet our mission. This year we will help over 550 children and young adults through our Reach Out For Youth scholarship campaign. We distributed over $140,000 in financial support this year and once again our alumni helped make it happen!

This year's projects have been a new new library in the Hike Center, a new tree fort by the lake, archives and history room improvements, scholarship support, and new flag poles. So far, everything has been accomplished, except for the flag poles... and we are working on that!

Next year is our 90th Anniversary. Make plans now to come to the biggest and best Alumni Day Reunion ever, on July 19, 2003. Please come back and visit Chingachgook anytime, we would love to see you! But if the travel is too inconvenient, the Chingachgook spirit remains strong any time on the web at Chingachgook.org.

See you next summer and best wishes from the shores of Lake George.
