Message from Camp

Winter 2007

Welcome back! I know it has been a while since we have updated the Alumni Website. I am honored to deliver to you this message from Camp as the first step in the revitalization of both the site and Alumni Council.

Camp is better than ever and thriving as this past summer marked a turning point in the way we serve kids. We featured 6 new Yurts in the Senior Girls, Junior Girls and Junior Boys Units, a fabulous new dining deck dedicated to the Dake Family and unveiled a completed bouldering wall.

This year, the Alumni Council is continuing to focus on the Waterfront Program and Facility design as we kicked off the project this past summer with the building of a new Waterski shed. We hope to continue adding exciting new projects and developments including handicap accessible docks, a boosted sailing program and new buildings as we close in on our 100th anniversary in 2013.

Speaking of 100th Anniversary, the planning is already underway for the most spectacular celebration in Camp history. We will keep you all posted on the events to celebrate Chingachgook’s centennial.

We invite you to visit your old camp this year to see our new improvements and learn about the future of our camp in order to continue to serve more kids, provide more scholarships and change more lives in positive ways. Return to Chingachgook and join us on January 6, 2007 for a Staff Reunion.

Thank you for your continued involvement and support. Best wishes from the shores of Lake George!

Hilary Johnson
Alumni Council Vice President
