Winter 2004

Happy New Year 2004! We are heading into our 91st season with summer camp nearly filled and lots of year-round action at Camp Chingachgook. The new Hannaford climbing tower, a new ice skating rink and sledding hill, and 30 new snow shoes are getting lots of use! Week day school programs and weekend family and group retreats continue to grow. In 2003, Chingachgook served a record 15,000 individuals. We are a busy and inspirational retreat center and summer camp on Lake George. Thank you for staying in touch with us.

If you want some adventure in you life, come to our winter alumni family weekend on March 12 - 154, 2004, a flyer on this web site will be available soon. Other key alumni events at Chingachgook will be on July 24 and Oct 9. Please join us!

Lastly, with plenty of growth, changes, and new innovations at Camp Chingachgook on Lake George, I want to explain to all alumni that your old camp is still very much the same. Bunk beds, reveille, skill classes, waiters, KYBOs, hikes on Buck Mt, swim lessons in Lake George, happy counselors, chapel, the program office, vespers, free swims, devotions, opening and closing campfires, taps, and that long walk from the waterfront to the soccer field - it is still all the same! The traditions at Camp Chingachgook are very strong and we are still changing lives, for thousands of kids each year, in enormously positive ways.

Thank you again for your involvement and support. It is vital to continuing the mission at YMCA Camp Chingachgook. We look forward to your return to Chingachgook sometime this year. Best wishes to you from the shores of Lake George.
